Spontaneous changes are sometimes necessary in order to give you the best possible experience as you travel through Egypt. Many surprises will await you on this spiritual tour of Egypt so be prepared to rejuvenate your mind, body & spirit while you have lots of fun exploring this ancient land)

Day 1, Arrive Cairo/Welcome Dinner

Arrive at Cairo Airport where you will be met by your Tour Managers. They will assist you through customs before transferring you to your luxury accommodations at the exotic and elegant Mena House Hotel that is located right next door to the pyramids in Giza. The Mena House is one of Egypt’s historical treasures boasting 140 years of history. The Mena House is the former hunting palace for the Khedive Ismael and has played host to Winston Churchell, Franklin D Roosevelt, Princess Grace of Monaco, royalty from all over the world and notable names from the music industry and film industry. We’ll get together this evening before enjoying our first dinner together. (Dinner)

Day 2 – Giza Plateau, Sphinx, Great Pyramid

We begin our day very early with a special private and exclusive visit to the Giza Plateau, when the area is closed to the public so it will be just our group.  As you reluctantly come alive, you will hear the incredible sounds of the entire city being called to prayer. Listen to the cacophony of sound– Feel the energy of the dawn spirits. We are off to discover some of the most awesome Wonders of the World to touch them and to feel them – the Great Sphinx and the Pyramids of the Giza Plateau.

We study them and pay particular attention to the Sphinx. There is nothing more awe inspiring on any tour of Egypt than to stand between the mighty paws of the Sphinx and gaze up at its wondrous face as the first rays of sunshine break over the horizon.

Sadly though this experience is not open to all who visit the Sphinx.  But you will have this experience to treasure for the rest of your life on our Journey of a Lifetime Retreat Spiritual Tour of Egypt. After your visit to the Great Pyramid, you may like to continue the magic of the evening by taking an optional camel ride out into the desert to experience the stillness of the night in the desert and the brilliance of the stars. This is a perfect way to end a once in a lifetime day. Day 3 – Dashur Pyramids and Sakkara

This morning we’ll drive to Dahshur where we visit the White, Black & Red Pyramids; this area was closed for over 25 years and has now been opened again for visitors although not many take the trouble to go there. Dashur is considered to be one of the Virgin Historical sites that still keeps its own powerful energy. There will be an opportunity to climb into the Red Pyramid for those who feel fit.Enjoy a late lunch at a typical Egyptian restaurant in the countryside.

We then visit Sakkara to view the Old Kingdom pyramids that rise on the west bank near ancient Memphis. About, 2630 B.C. Imhotep, architect to King Djoser (Dynasty III), masterminded the Step Pyramid at Sakkara.

The world’s oldest freestanding stone structure, this pyramid consists of six tiers atop a mastaba, faced with cut stone.

We will explore the massive Sakkara complex with its numerous tombs including a visit to the awesome newly opened Serapeum that houses the massive granite sarcophagus of the Appis Bulls.

On the way back to Cairo, we visit one of the carpet schools where Egyptian children make handmade carpets out of their own imagination. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 4, – Cairo Museum and Khan El Khalili Bazaar Plus Walking Tour of Old Cairo

Today we visit the Cairo Museum in downtown Cairo.  Visit the cairo museum forecourt on your Spiritual Tour of EgyptOur Egyptologist will guide us through this famous museum with a collection of over 200,000 ancient Egyptian artifacts, dating back to 4,000 BC.

Visiting the museum early in your spiritual tour of Egypt, is an opportunity to see the statues and artefacts that originally were located in the temples, this paints a fuller picture when you go the temples.  There you will experience first-hand the different periods of ancient Egypt and the individual artistic and architectural styles of each period.

One of the many highlights of the Cairo museum is the visit to the treasures of TutAnkhAmon. Stand before the breathtakingly beautiful gold death mask and marvel at the treasures that travelled with this boy king to the afterlife.

There will be time to explore the Cairo Museum on your own and to feel the sometimes eerie presence of energies from the past that still linger within the statues.

After our visit to the Cairo Museum, we will take some time out to visit the local shopping area for some retail therapy Egyptian style at the famous Khan el Khalili markets. Our guide will take us on a walking tour through the streets and alleyways of Old Cairo.


Day 5 – Cairo to Aswan and Abu Simbel

This morning we check out of our hotel and take our Egypt Air flight to Aswan where we will travel by road to Abu Simbel. Upon arrival we will check into our hotel the Seti I which is right on the lake. We will have lunch together and then your afternoon is free to enjoy this peaceful hotel. Tonight you may like to get your first taste of the amazing temples at Abu Simbel that have been hewn out of a mountain for Ramses II during the optional Sound and Light Show. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 6 – Abu Simbel to Aswan and Afandina Nile Cruise

We are up before the Sun this morning to explore the temples at Abu Simbel. These magnificent temples are both an ancient and a modern engineering marvel. The Abu Simbel temples are the symbols of an international salvage campaign in the 1960s to save these monuments from the rising waters of the mighty Aswan Dam.

These temples are truly magnificent and a very special moment is quietly watching the Sun rise on the lake and seeing the sunlight on the Temples. See the Temple for Ramses II and the beautiful temple for his beloved wife Nefertari. Our Egyptologist guide will assist us to see the full beauty of these temples through translating the images on the walls and giving us the history of the temples.

After breakfast we return to Aswan.   Aswan city is considered to be everyone’s favourite Egyptian city because it is beautiful and peaceful. It is called the “Pearl of Egypt”. We then check into our beautiful private Yacht “Afandina”.                                                  (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

Day 7 –  Temple of Isis and Sail to Kom Ombo Temple

We rise very early this morning and take a short coach ride to the lakeshore and transfer to a motorboat. We travel on the Nile River to the island of Philae where we will visit the Philae Temple privately.

This island represents a fusion of three great civilizations – Egyptian, Greek and Roman. The presence of Isis is felt very strongly in the inner sanctum, the Holy of Holies of her temple.

We’ll take ample time here to experience the healing energy of Isis and her lovely island complex.

Later we check into our beautiful private Yacht “Afandina”.

The Afandina is a traditional sailing vessel of the Nile known as a dhahabeya. Dhahabeyas have travelled the length and breadth of the Nile for centuries and today it reminds us of a world from long ago when life was gentle and time seemed to stand still. Cleopatra and Julius Caesar are said to have honeymooned on a dhahabeya.

This gorgeous sailing boat, with an almost 1:1 ratio of staff to guests, will be our home for the next 8 days. The Afandina, boasting incredible materials, workmanship and design, is a truly world-class experience that harkens back to an earlier era of travel.

Visit Kom Ombo Temple Dedicated to Horus and Sobek

We will gather on deck to share our experiences as we sail to Kom Ombo. There, we visit the only dual temple in Egypt.

This dramatic temple poised between the edge of the river and the encroaching desert sand, was dedicated to two gods – Sobek the crocodile god of strength, fortitude, fertility and rebirth, and Horus the hawk-headed son of Isis and Osiris.

We will dock our dhahabeya at an island near Kom Ombo for the night.(Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner)


Day 8 – Edfu Temple

We continue sailing to Edfu on our Journey of a Lifetime spiritual tour of Egypt, where we will visit the Temple of Horus, one of the most beautifully preserved in Egypt.

Here, we follow the pattern of the hero’s quest as we learn how Horus and his followers (the Shemsu Hor) conquered chaos, and we see the sacred marriage of the king and queen as the embodiment of Horus and the goddess Hathor.

Look forward to a very powerful optional guided meditation in this temple. The side chambers of the temple show the complexity of the rites that include a healing chamber, a perfumery, and singer’s rooms. One chamber, called the House of Life, stored all of the sacred texts used in seasonal and daily rituals.

Day 9 – Esna Temple

Today, we sail toward Esna, and delight in watching the timeless beauty along the Nile River. We will meet on deck or in our lovely living room to share our experience.

The temple of Esna is dedicated to the creative triad of Khnum, Neith and their offspring Hak or Sobek. The site is a prime example of the power of the Nile at inundation. Its hieroglyphs have only partially been translated, and thus the temple represents the mystery and power of an as yet untranslated text.

Day 10 — West Bank, Afandina

This morning , we make a sunrise pilgrimage to Deir el Bahari, the funerary temple of the female pharaoh Hatshepsut. This is another of those special moments that you will treasure from your spiritual tour of Egypt with Spiritual Egypt Tours.

We also visit the Necropolis of Thebes on the West Bank of the Nile River. The West Bank holds the tombs of the pharaohs that are inscribed with sacred transformative texts, including the books of knowing light and dark, the book of what is in the underworld, the book of caverns, and naming and taming the hours of the night. Here are the tombs of Ramses III and VII.

We will also see the mortuary temple of Ramses III at Medinet Habu and the Colossi of Memnon.

Day 11 — Dendera, Abydos, Afandina

This morning we check out of Afandina very early and we take a road trip to the exquisite Dendera Temple dedicated to Hathor, the goddess of abundance, love and joy.

The Dendera temple is built with a zodiacal ceiling that recalls the origins of Egypt. On the rooftop where Hathor priests and priestesses gathered for their celebrations thousands of years ago, we reconnect to our destinies.

We then continue north on your our of Egypt to the temple at Abydos, dedicated to Osiris, and housing the nine great beings (the Ennead).

This temple rests next to and above the most ancient Osirion, one of the premier power places on the planet. It includes a more recent temple built by Seti I, which contains the most beautiful Bas reliefs of any temple in Egypt.

Day 12, — Karnak / Luxor Temple

Today on your Journey of a Lifetime Spiritual tour of Egypt, we tour Karnak, one of the largest temple complexes in the world.

Karnak recalls us to the powerful acts of creation, of beginning anew, and of building on the divine plan. It has been home for more than 3,500 years to the living statue of the lioness goddess, Sekhmet. We will visit her temple and will use the powerful energy of Sekhmet to further awaken the spirit within. This will also be a time for thinking about our future and goals we want to create.

Day 13 – Luxor to Cairo

Today we depart Luxor and fly to Cairo where we check into the Mena House in Giza (Breakfast)

Day 14,— Siwa Oasis via Mersa Matrhouh

Spiritual tours of Egypt Fort at Siwa OasisWe have an early breakfast this morning before we drive to Mersa Matrhouh which is located on the Mediterranean Sea for lunch at a seaside resort. After lunch we continue driving through the barren desert landscape of the Western Desert to Siwa Oasis which is located in South West Egypt. You won’t believe your eyes when you see the lushness of the Siwa Oasis.

Here you will discover mineral springs, salt lakes and endless olive and palm groves. There are about 70,000 olive trees and 300,000 date trees in Siwa., The number of springs in the oasis is around 1,000. The depression of Siwa is some 82 square kilometres, Its breadth averages between nine kilometres to 28 kilometres.

On arrival we check into our hotel the Siwa Shali Resort Hotel which will be our base for the next few days. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 15, – Siwa Oasis

Spiritual Egypt Tours Sanctuary Temple of Ammun Siwa OasisThis morning we rise early to visit to the Oracle temple of Ammun. In 331 B.C. Alexander the Great came to consult the oracle of Ammun. It told him that he would be master of the world and that he was the son of the god, Ammun. Alexander did of course go on to conquer the known world. This is why Alexander is represented on Hellenistic coins with the ram’s horns of the god Ammun.

We will watch the birth of the Sun rise over the lake and consult the oracle. There is a great view of the Lake and unforgettable moments will be enjoyed in this very special place.

We are back at our hotel in time for breakfast.

After breakfast we visit the Jabal el Mawta Tombs (Mountain of the Dead) Tombs from the twenty-sixth Dynasty, Ptolemaic, and Roman periods are cut into the side of the mountain.

Siwa Oasis is Full of Amazing Sites to Visit
on Your Spiritual Tour of Egypt

This afternoon we will travel to Gebel Dakrour. This area is renowned for the healing qualities of its hot sands since ancient times, as well as for being a major source of the red pigment used in Siwan pottery.

People come from all around Egypt and the world during the summer months to be interred in sand baths which have properties of healing rheumatism and arthritis. We will continue on to Ain Schiffar. The name means “Healing Spring” and the fresh waters here are renowned for their healing properties.

We will watch the sunset from the beautiful high sand dunes close to Dakrour. Dinner this evening is Siwa style. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 16, –  Siwa Oasis

We then enjoy visiting all the ancient sites located within Siwa Oasis including the Shali Fortress which dominates the town centre and the Siwa House Museum. We will explore the Siwa market where you can buy highly prized handcrafted silver jewellery and local artefacts.

Later we visit Cleopatra’s Pool where the legendary Queen herself is believed to have once taken a swim. We will also visit natural hot springs and enjoy the beauty of the area.

This evening we watch the sun set over Siwa Lake before returning to our hotel to enjoy our dinner. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 17 – Return to Cairo

This morning is a very early morning start for our long drive back to Cairo stopping for lunch along the way. We return to Cairo and check into the Mena House Hotel overlooking the pyramids. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 18 – Cairo

Today is a free day to enjoy the beautiful Mena House Hotel and tonight we will meet for our farewell dinner where we can reflect on the amazing journey we have shared over the last 18 days. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 19 – Transfer to Airport

All good things must eventually come to an end and following breakfast check out of your hotel before being transferred to the Cairo International Airport for your journey home . (Breakfast)
